Job Offers & Express Entry in 2026

Understand what a job offer does — and no longer does — in Express Entry after IRCC removed job offer CRS points on March 25, 2025.

Why this path matters
As of March 25, 2025, IRCC eliminated the +50 (NOC TEER 1–3) and +200 (NOC TEER 0) job offer points from the CRS entirely. A job offer no longer boosts your CRS score. It still matters for FSW eligibility, FSTP eligibility, and many PNP streams — so it is not a CRS growth lever, but it can still be a program-access lever.
No CRS points since Mar 2025Still counts for FSW/FST/PNPReform proposal — not law
Strategy snapshot

A clear view of how this path fits into the roadmap

This snapshot frames the strategy at a high level before the full workflow expands with deeper premium guidance.

Why it matters
Program access, not CRS uplift
A valid job offer no longer adds CRS points, but it can unlock FSW arranged-employment sub-scores (up to 10 points on the 67-point selection grid), support FST eligibility, and satisfy the job-offer requirement of many PNP streams.
Who this helps
Candidates relying on FSW, FST, or a PNP nomination
Often relevant for users whose federal eligibility depends on the arranged-employment component of the FSW 67-point grid, or whose provincial pathway (e.g. Ontario Workforce Priority Stream, SINP, MPNP employer-driven streams) requires a qualifying job offer.
Score impact
Zero CRS points — do not plan around it
The old +50 / +200 job offer bonuses were removed from CRS on March 25, 2025. Do not sequence a job offer as a CRS improvement scenario. Simulator CRS scenarios exclude job offer points for this reason.
Proposed reform
Job offer points may return — but only for high-wage roles
IRCC has proposed reintroducing job offer points, scoped to occupations at 1.3x, 1.5x, or 2x the national median wage. The 30-day consultation closed May 24, 2026 and no regulation has been published. Earliest realistic implementation is late 2027 — do not plan around this yet.
What this strategy helps with

Where this path can create meaningful value

These are the high-level outcomes this strategy workspace is designed to clarify without overstating what any one path guarantees.

Understand the current CRS rule
Users can see clearly that job offer CRS points were removed in March 2025 and do not exist in the current formula.
Keep a job offer in your Express Entry profile
Even without CRS points, a valid job offer should remain in the profile because it supports FSW arranged-employment sub-scoring, FST eligibility, and many PNP streams.
Compare with real CRS pathways
This helps users pivot from a job-offer strategy toward paths that actually raise CRS today — French, English, Canadian experience, education, or a PNP nomination (+600).
Track the reform proposal safely
Users can watch the high-wage occupation proposal without treating it as a current rule or planning around a change that may take until late 2027 to become law.
